Dr Jeff Bowra graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1994. He owned the Aldergrove Animal Hospital for 23 years, and Westview Veterinary Services in North Vancouver for 7 years. During this period, Dr Bowra and Dr Smith developed and refined a model for providing speciality surgery at those hospitals, with most patients going home the same day. This resulted in reduced stress for both patients and owners, while ensuring top-notch surgical expertise and patient care. This exemplary service model attracted patients from all over the province and even Washington State.
With 4 children and an animal crazy wife pets were abundant in the Bowra household. At the peak there were 3 dogs, 3 cats, 2 bearded dragons, multiple crested geckos, and a few hamsters. As their children left the Surrey nest, Dr. Jeff and his wife Toni rebuilt on their property in Sechelt, making their home base the Sunshine Coast. In 2021 Dr Bowra sold both his general practice hospitals, taking time to build their new home in Sechelt, and plan with Drs’ Smith and Bhandal to build a specialty surgical practice incorporating the client-centred service model established at Aldergrove and Westview.
In his free time, Dr. Jeff loves the West Coast lifestyle, enjoying boating, fishing, e-mountain biking and a bit of skiing and, in true Canadian fashion, hockey.
