Michelle RVT

Registered Veterinary Technician

Michelle grew up in the Okanagan with a variety of animals.  She started her journey in Veterinary Medicine as a volunteer at the Vancouver Animal Wellness Hospital.  Her eagerness to learn was evident and in 2012, Michelle graduated from the assistant program at Douglas College.

As much as Michelle loved her work as an assistant, she soon realized she wanted to further her education.  While continuing to work and gain experience she enrolled in the distant technologist program with Thompson Rivers University, graduating in 2015.  As someone who continues to challenge herself, once she became a Registered Veterinary Technologist, Michelle moved to the Specialty Hospital setting and has developed an interest in anesthesia, analgesia, diagnostic imaging and oncology.   Through the years, Michelle has developed a soft spot for fractious cats, ferrets, Shiba Inus and Huskies!

Michelle shares her home with Wren, an energetic mixed breed small dog from Paws It Forward dog rescue and her cat Lucy, Michelle’s other cat, Simon has taken up residence with her mom since her mom loves him so much.  Michelle enjoys all things outdoors (snowboarding, exploring parks and hiking with Wren), Michelle is also very happy to get immersed in a good book.
